Safety pins are the old fashioned way of fastening nappies. Particularly helpful if you are using a nappy with the outer layer that the snappi doesn’t quite cling to well enough stay fastened.
Safe Usage Tips
- Hand Placement: Always place your fingers flat between the nappy fabric and your baby’s skin when inserting or removing the pin so the point cannot touch the baby.
- Fabric Gliding: Push the pin horizontally or sideways through the folds rather than straight down.
- Slide Tricks : Storing your pins stuck into a bar of soap makes the metal slippery, helping it slide smoothly.
Or, there is the very old fashioned trick of rubbing it through your hair. Your scalp oil makes it easy. Now I’m really showing my age.
